Abstract :
Experimental transmission results of a long-haul 40 Gbit/s dispersion-managed soliton system using Raman amplification are presented. The experimental results and theoretical analysis show that by replacing lumped amplifiers with distributed Raman amplification, the constraint on the position of the amplifier location within the dispersion map is relaxed
