Abstract :
A method for determining the effect and severity of turbine blade vibrations when subjected to balanced and unbalanced disturbance conditions is presented. An evaluation of severity is made using the index power spectrum density method and the results of representative studies are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the procedures adopted. Recommendations are made to depress blade vibration amplitudes in addition to the presentation of a feasible and easy to use analytical technique
