Abstract :
A new pioneering block based predictive coding algorithm is proposed which exploits both inter-frame and intra-frame correlation to compress 3D stereo image pairs. This algorithm can be readily applied in addition to any other conventional compression technology such as JPEG or wavelets and fractals, to achieve extra data compression for all right frames. Experiments are also reported when JPEG is used as the foundation compression technology
