Abstract :
A low complexity 2D approximation-based preprocessing scheme for GHM (Geronimo, Hardin and Massopust) multiwavelet transform of 2D signals is proposed. The proposed scheme reduces the preprocessing computational complexity of the recent 1D approximation-based method by 65% while maintaining a similar energy compaction capability
