Abstract :
This article examines the commercial and technological structure of the British Isles electronics industry at mid 1996. It summarises the activity in the industry by type of operation, for example indigenous or inward investment, by size of operation and by product or application sector produced. Data is also presented on the regional structure of the industry and its R&D activity.
