Abstract :
Recently, P.M. Lin (see ibid., vol.36, no.9, p.1153-8, 1989) criticized some proofs of the equality of the mutual inductances L 12=L21 for coupled coils. In so doing, he presented some energy and power expressions for the case L 12≠L21. Although all the considerations of P.M. Lin are correct, his transient analysis for the case L12≠L21 is not sufficiently general and might suggest misleading conclusions.. The author generalizes P.M. Lin´s treatment and presents a physical interpretation of the inductance two-port with L12≠L21, based on a novel active nonreciprocal equivalent circuit
