  • Abstract
    This letter presents a novel structure for a planar ultrawideband (UWB) antenna that has an omnidirectional radiation pattern and stable gain in the frequency range 3.1-10.6 GHz. This structure consists of an elliptical slot that is fed by a fork-shaped microstrip transmission line. Also, by adding three stubs to the UWB structure, a multiband antenna has been implemented that covers Bluetooth, WiMAX, WLAN, and ITU standards frequency bands. The return loss, radiation pattern, and peak gain are studied by computer simulations and are shown to be in good agreement with the measurement results. This structure has a compact size (29 × 26.5 mm ), is lightweight, and can be easily fabricated.
