Abstract :
1553B bus is a military avionic bus that describes the mechanical, electrical and functional characteristics of the serial data bus. It is a well proven bus for communication in avionics for nearly 30 years. 32 bit fixed point DSP TMS320F2812 from Texas instrument is specifically built for high performance, math intensive power electronics controls and is interfaced with the 1553B Remote Terminal (RT) IC for efficient and reliable data communication. In this paper we introduce, propose and discuss the 1553B communication basics, hardware interfacing circuit design, software configuration and along with results. Hardware Electronics designed along with the software is used to acquire and process reliable real time data. Realization of digital controller for Electro-Mechanical Actuation system using 1553B Bus provides an efficient reliable communication with dual redundant architecture.
