Abstract :
Due to the improvement of wireless technologies such as LTE and WiMax services, various changes occur around the Internet market. High-speed wireless services become competitors of fixed-line broadband-services. We present the current situation of Internet-access-service market in Japan. We analyzed the change of the preference for the Internet access services from the following two customer segments: fixed-line broadband-service customers and wireless-service customers. This paper presents the results based on the original survey data collected from customers of major three mobile-carriers: docomo, au and SoftBank in Japan. Finally, we conclude and discuss the future demand of the Internet access services.
