Abstract :
The paper proposes an optical device for add-drop multiplexing. The device is based on a Bragg grating assisted Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) configuration. In the Bragg grating three phase shifts are implemented to open up a proper one-channel transmission window. The analysis is based on the mode propagation theory. SiO2 /Si planar lightwave circuits are currently the most promising technology for realising this kind of device
