Abstract :
A webserver based on an interoperable subset of TCP/IPv6 and HTTP/1.1 protocols has been implemented with synthesisable RTL-VHDL. Excluding homepage memory and network interface, the size of the corresponding intellectual property block is 13 kgates. Processing of a homepage request takes 51 μs of time and consumes only 3 μJ of energy with 20 MHz clock rate. This provides the possibility of embedding the HTTP/1.1 server into small ubiquitous low-power devices
