Abstract
The paper describes experiments on beyond-the-horizon very high and microwave wave propagation over the North-East part of the Black Sea. The experiments took place in the 30-70th of the XX century. The experiments provided better understanding of the mechanisms of the far wave propagation over the sea surface, accumulating the data base with information concerning the signals´ attenuation factor, space-temporal distribution and frequency-selective fading. The results of these experiments helped to work out the methods of attenuation factor prognosis and gave recommendations for synthesis of adaptive radars.
