Abstract :
The purpose of the paper is to reveal the influence of higher-order mode of VCSEL emission on the coupling efficiency between VCSEL and waveguide. Firstly, we measured and simulated the coupling efficiency between VCSEL and 50SI-MMF and pointed out the influence of higher-order of VCSEL emission. Then, we measured the VCSEL power intensity and analysed the dependency of higher order transverse-mode of VCSEL emission numerically. We revealed that the fundamental transverse-mode shared only 10-20% of actual VCSEL power emission
