Abstract :
A network-synthesis technique is presented which is based on the solution of the nonlinear equations resulting from coefficient-matching the network function of the desired network to the specified function. The systematic elimination of component variables from the equation set obtained in this way leads to a high-order polynomial in just one such component variable; the roots of this polynomial then include and provide through back substitution all component-set solutions to the synthesis problem. The proposed technique, which provides an alternative to the direct mathematical synthesis and optimization methods, has been successfully implemented using LISP.<>
