Abstract :
A leaky-wave antenna based on a rectangular waveguide with partially dielectric filling and transverse slots is studied. The complex propagation constant is determined from a transcendental equation by matching of magnetic fields inside and outside the waveguide in a slot plane. Velocity factor dependences on the waveguide filling parameters are presented. The influence of the dielectric position in the waveguide on the antenna characteristics is considered. The radiation pattern is analyzed.
