Abstract :
Summary form only given. A single spin will not reverse its magnetic moment under a magnetic field without energy dissipation. However, a group of coupled spins could in certain situations by transforming the magnetic potential energy to exchange energy and magnetostatic energy via spin wave generation. In this paper, we present a systematic micromagnetic study on magnetization reversal dynamics in patterned thin film elements as well as thin film write heads. The properties of the generated spin waves and time dependent mode dispersion will be discussed.
