Abstract
A with variable voltage and torque constants has been built and tested. The rotor was split into two halves. As the rotor halves were indexed relative to one another, the torque and voltage constants were varied. This increased the constant power speed range (CPSR) of the machine. If the rotors are unequal in length, control of the variation is easier. A planetary gear set is proposed, external to the machine. Moving one ring gear of the planetary will allow the constants to be varied while the machine is under load.
