Abstract :
In this work is presented a "Mixed logical dynamical" (MLD) model of Dinorwig, which is a pumped-storage hydroelectric power station. This model is compared with a non-linear model; the results show that there is good agreement between the two models. A control scheme, based on the MLD model, was designed and compared with the classic PI controller as currently implemented. The results show that Scheduled-PI is faster and less sensitive than the classic PI.
