Abstract
Liquid crystal optical fibers are tested for the use of electric voltage sensing. The transmission or reflection characteristics of the sensor heads depend on the environmental electromagnetic fields due to the directional change of the liquid crystal molecules. Not only the conventional nematic but also polymer-dispersed liquid crystals are tested.
