Abstract
This paper describes an automated method for designing LCLC resonant power converters using genetic algorithms. Development of a suitable fitness function using fundamental mode approximation equivalent circuit to model the converter in place of more computationally intensive simulations, is detailed. The use of this function in a binary genetic algorithm to provide realisable converter designs featuring components restricted to the E24 preferred values, is provided.
