Abstract
In many measurement situations sources are in motion, and the source motion can significantly degrade the correlator output since the time delay varies during the correlator integration time. The authors propose a novel way of modeling the sound field of moving sources in multipath and/or multisensor measurement environments using a concept that has been termed the covariance-equivalent model. They derive a maximum-likelihood time-delay estimation algorithm that does not suffer from correlation degradation due to source motion
