Abstract :
Summary form only given. M-type barium hexagonal ferrite (BaFe/sub 12/O/sub 19/) is one of the most important hard magnetic materials, widely used for permanent magnets as well as microwave devices and magnetic recording media. The Fe/sup 3+/ ions are arranged in five different types of sites (12k, 4f/sub VI/, 4f/sub IV/, 2a and 2b) [2]. The magnetization of the sublattices 4f/sub VI/ and 4f/sub VI/ Is antiparallel to the other sublattices. The main aim is to substitute selectively the Iron ions located in the 4f/sub VI/ and 4f/sub VI/ sublattices. In this work we present the results of the modification of BaFe/sub 12/O/sub 19/ prepared with the chemical precipitation method with the addition of zinc.
