Abstract :
Summary form only given. Five alloys of nominal composition, Co/sub 2/Ni/sub 1-x/Ga/sub 1+x/, x=0.006, 0, 0.1, 0.12, 0.15, 0.3, were prepared by arc melting. Following this ribbons were produced by melt-spinning technique. In samples Co/sub 2/Ni/sub 0.88/Ga/sub 1.12/, Co/sub 2/Ni/sub 85/Ga/sub 1.25/ and Co/sub 2/Ni/sub 0.9/Ga/sub 1.1/ full shape recovery upon heating after having been manually deformed at room temperature was observed. The saturation magnetization for the as-quenched ribbon reached a value of 50 emu/g. The magnetization curves vs. temperature for samples Co/sub 2/Ni/sub 0.94/Ga/sub 1.06/, Co/sub 2/NiGa and Co/sub 2/Ni/sub 0.9/Ga/sub 1.1/ are shown. All curves were obtained using vibration sample magnetometer (VSM) under an applied field of 100 Oe. All curves have two extremes. Lactation and value varies with sample composition. The occurrence of this phenomenon is related to transformation from an amorphous state into a crystalline state. The Curie temperature does not depend on the alloy composition and is 700/spl deg/C. The ratio of the maximum magnetization value to the minimum of magnetization is smallest for the sample having composition Co/sub 2/NiGa and the largest in sample no.3 (Co/sub 2/Ni/sub 0.8/Ga/sub 1.2/). It was confirmed that all investigated samples are ferromagnetic and an interesting phenomenon in magnetization vs. temperature curves was discovered.
