Abstract :
This paper presents a new method to design optimal disturbance rejection PID controllers for time delay system, based on genetic algorithms. The powerful capability of GA in locating the optimal solution to a given problem is exploited by optimizing the parameters of the PID controller. Each set of controller parameters is directly evaluated by simulating the closed-loop system and comparing the resulting responses with the desired ones. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance and validity of the method
