Abstract
The authors present a novel formulation of harmonic extrapolation based on a deconvolution interpretation of the frequency problem that allows techniques and algorithms that have been successfully used in spiky deconvolution to be used. A gradient-type method is proposed that, combined with the application of a threshold to reduce progressively the band of the signal, shows the advantages of having low computational cost, the possibility of using different windows, and better estimations if the period of the signal is known. Finally, a comparison is made of with the result for the MUSIC algorithm in a series of simulations to show the performance of the method
