Abstract :
Summary form only given. The Preisach model of scalar hysteresis requires the accurate identification of Preisach distribution function (PDF) from a suitable set of experimental magnetization curves. Generally, external quantities such as current and magnetic flux are measured under the hypothesis of uniform magnetic field distribution and the local values of magnetic flux density and magnetic field are obtained by the appropriate scaling of the corresponding integral quantities. But if the sample has irregular shape the hypotheses of uniform magnetic flux density and magnetic field distribution are not satisfied and measured data refer only to average quantities. In this case relevant errors can occur in the identification of PDF. This work deals with the inverse problem of the reconstruction of the effective shape of hysteresis loops in devices with non-uniform magnetic field.
