Abstract :
When the phase-shifted full-bridge converter (PSFB converter) with clamping diodes (CD) operating in discontinuous current mode (DCM), clamping diodes are apt to be damaged, especially in high input voltage applications, which deteriorates the reliability of the converter dramatically. The operation principle of the DCM PSFB converter with CD is analyzed in detail. Analysis shows that the clamping diode has different operating modes in DCM compared to CCM. The clamping diodes are turned off with serious reverse recovery. The operation principle is verified by a 1200 W module.
