  • Abstract
The present paper concerns the possibility of studying of weak anisotropic media, which is based on the use of open microwave resonator with a measuring hole in one of the mirrors. This approach is allowed providing the locality of observations, the high sensitivity to small variations of the reflected signal, the opportunity to explore the materials with high absorption. The use of quasi-optical resonator does not practically limit the frequency field of studies. The model of the open resonator with an inhomogeneous radius mirror, being used to describe the sensitivity of this method, is quantitatively allowed estimating the influence of geometric factors of the resonator and optimizing them for different requirements on local measurements, for the reflectivity of the objects under study, for frequency sensing.
