Abstract :
Several methods based on the signal enhancement algorithm are proposed for solving the direction of arrival estimation problem for multiple incoherent plane waves incident on a uniform linear array. The basic idea is that of finding a spectral density matrix of given rank that lies closest to a given spectral density matrix in a Frobenius norm sense. Superior resolution capabilities achieved with this approach are illustrated by comparing the results of simulation experiments with the results for H. Wang and M. Kaveh´s (1985) CSS-MUSIC focusing method
