Abstract :
A concise description of the method of the wave diagnostic for aperture antennas and planar arrays is given. This method is based on the near-field measurements over spherical surface that covering antenna under test. The amplitude spectra of the uniform plane waves of an antenna field are defined by the amplitudes of the vector spherical waves. After that on the basis of the superposition of the uniform plane waves an aperture field or a field over antenna array elements are determined. A possibility of solving problems of measurements over an incomplete sphere is shown. The results of numerical and experimental studies are presented.
