Abstract :
Neurons are connected with synapses to form neural networks. Neural networks can process information and generate a specific pattern of electrical activity. It is difficult to understand the neurons and neural networks through limited experimental data. Therefore, informatics and biology were integrated, and experimental data and mathematical models were combined. One simulator for biological neural networks was studied and realized to verify the known and explore the unknown so as to disclose neural biophysical and biochemical structure. It is very critical to biology. In this paper, novel system architecture was designed, efficient data representation was provided, and accurate computational method was described. The simulator was realized in platform-independent JAVA language and has been widely applied in the world
