Abstract :
This paper will report the hydrostatic pressure, temperature and DC bias coupling dependencies of the phase transition and dielectric properties of ferroelectric ceramics. Firstly, we will present our observation of the hydrostatic pressure-induced phase transition of PLZST ferroelectric ceramics. The phase transition pressure at different temperatures and DC biases was characterized by a 2 GPa hydrostatic pressure apparatus respectively. Then, the hydrostatic pressure dependency of dielectric properties of PLZST ceramics was investigated by this measurement system at different temperatures and DC biases. Finally, the temperature dependency of dielectric properties of PLZST ceramics was studied also by changing hydrostatic pressure and DC bias. The experimental results reveal that the FE-AFE phase transition pressure of PLZST ceramics is much sensitive to the temperature and the DC bias direction applied. The transition pressure would go to higher value with te!mperature increasing. Moreover, the applied bias field would lead to higher transition pressure if it is the same as the sample poling direction, whereas the pressure could be lowered if the applied bias field is opposite to the poling direction. Based on the research, we will report the new application of the ferroelectric ceramics
