Abstract
Analytical average-value modeling of peak current-mode controlled dc-dc converters is challenging. It becomes further complicated when the parasitics and different operational modes are considered. This manuscript presents a straightforward, yet powerful, methodology that considers the true average of nonlinear waveforms and produces a fairly accurate large-signal transient model. The proposed numerically- constructed model is functional in all operational modes and is validated in large-signal transient studies and small-signal frequency-domain characterizations.
