Abstract
This paper presents a time domain modelling and simulation method for multilayer integrated passive structures. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) technique implemented provides a time domain solution based on lossy multi-conductor transmission line theory. The theory is developed from first principles based on the planar structure under consideration. The method is tested experimentally by comparing theoretically predicted and experimentally measured results. It is shown that there is a good agreement in practice.
