  • Abstract
A study is made of a matched system for detecting a target in the presence of background noise and strong jammers. The ideal receiver is analytically computed using classical decision theory, and its performances, which gives the upper bounds of the problem, is evaluated for a given scenario. Adaptive beamforming is then shown to be a good approximation of the unrealizable ideal receiver, and its performance is measured in simulation using the same scenario as for the ideal receiver. A comparison is made of the performance of the two systems
