Abstract :
Summary form only given. A typical servo track writer employs an external radial positioning device such as a laser interferometer to guide the VCM to a known radial position. In this process, the head is prone to external vibration and has poor disturbance rejection. An alternative to the external positioner is self-radial propagation (Cribbs, Patent US5448429, 1996). This paper analyzed the radial error propagation in the process and algorithm for error containment.
