Abstract :
Recent advances in low power electronics have provided new opportunities for the use of piezoelectric materials to power electronic devices without use of batteries. This paper deals wtih the design and testing of the piezoelectric generator for energy harvesting applications. The optimal material and structure of the bimorph was investigated through the FEA method and energy gathering system was prepared to maximize the efficiency of the piezoelectric bimorph. The power generation capability and displacement properties of piezoelectric bimorph actuator will be discussed. A electric power of about 50 mW was produced using a bimorph actuator vibration under 1.3mm amplitude at 68Hz.
