Abstract
The hydration number of oxyethylated derivatives of glycerol (OEGn) of polymerization degree n = 5, 25 and 30 is estimated using molecular dynamics simulations. The maximum of the distribution of bound water molecules for OEGn = 5, OEGn = 25 and OEGn = 30 corresponds to 11, 26 and 30 water molecules respectively. The data have been compared with the results of infrared spectroscopy, as well as hydration estimation based on the analysis of the phase diagrams of water-OEGm binary systems. The prospects for further studies by EHF dielectrometry are considered.
