  • Abstract
Cleft lip and palate is the most common facial malformation occurring in infants. Associated with cleft lip are nasal deformities that are not aesthetically pleasing. Creating a nasal support for a current cleft palate appliance is important in pre-surgically correcting nasal deformations and may present an airway obstruction. The aim of this project is to therefore create a nasal support for a cleft palate appliance. Utilizing two design alternatives the appliance will be verified in order to prove the safety and efficacy of the appliance.
