Abstract :
Continuous monitoring of physical activity for diabetic individuals provides important information regarding energy expenditure. This device makes use of both heart rate sensing and full body acceleration to measure physical activity. Energy expenditure is calculated using an algorithm which determines the amount of activity occurring. The output is displayed in carbohydrates to allow for better informed decision making regarding blood glucose level adjustment.
