Abstract :
Recent advances to develop a mechanism capable to describe product data throughout the life cycle of product have led to STEP. This international standard for the exchange of product model data is the result of all actual international developments in the interface specification. The development of product data models using STEP is vast and complex. In this paper, the development of product data models as well as the description of an interface assisting this development is presented
