Abstract :
The engineering and design, planning, operations, construction, and maintenance of a companywide telecommunications services network implemented by San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) are discussed. The integrated digital telecommunications network (IDTN) incorporates two transmission technologies: digital microwave and optical fiber. The network´s digital cross-connect system, switching system, synchronization, framing and line coding, and alarm and control system are described
