Abstract :
The methodology used to implement a control mechanism within a multiple supplier/vendor environment is described. Some of the insights gained during the methodology development and initial analysis are presented. This method is shown to differ from other analyses in that its design goals include creating the ability to track costs over time and the ability to segment the results by vendor, equipment type or serving area. These goals are accomplished within the constraint of a common systems data source. Results indicate that to fulfill the objectives, a reliable data tracking system is necessary. The tracking system must be aligned with the company´s business processes, and a catalyst agent, perhaps implemented with an overlay process, must be identified
