Abstract :
The use of variables data reporting as a technique to monitor optical fiber quality and the optical fiber manufacturing process´ quality improvement is discussed. It is shown that this method will reduce the sampling required by the optical fiber cabler while providing a more active defect prevention tool. A major part of this system is the determination and constant monitoring of the test equipment repeatability
