Abstract :
A fully integrated low noise amplifier (LNA) has been designed in 0.25 μm CMOS technology for the ultra-wideband (UWB) radio. The LNA operates in the 3.1 - 4.8 GHz band. Within this band, the noise figure is less than 4.9 dB, |S11| < -10.5 dB, |S21| > 8.5 dB, and IIP3 > -2.2 dBm. The LNA core block dissipates 10 mA current from a 2-volt power supply. The designed LNA is packaged in a regular LQFP package and shown not to be too sensitive to the bonding wire length.
