Abstract :
An integral criterion for signal narrowbandness is described, it does not have the drawbacks of local criteria, because it admits individual integrable derivative jumps. The criterion takes into account the rate of signal´s phase change with an amplitude weight. It is noted that the above criterion is also useful for classification of modulation kinds in complex radio signals. The structure of an algorithm simulating the process of modulation type detection, as well as the results of statistical modelling for signals with amplitude and phase modulation, is presented.
