Abstract :
This paper describes a behavior transformation based technique to optimize power consumption in linear systems implemented on programmable processors, For the single processor case, our method is based on unfolding by an optimal amount so as to minimize the effective number of operations per sample. For the multiple processor case, the additional increase in throughput due to multiple processors is also traded-off against clock frequency slowdown and voltage reduction. The effectiveness of our techniques and algorithms is demonstrated on numerous real-life examples from DSP, control, and communications
