Abstract :
Summary form only given. Iron nitrides have been extensively studied, in particular following the announcement of enhanced magnetisation in Fe/sub 16/N/sub 2/ compounds. Much less literature has been published about nickel nitrides because of the smaller magnetisation of pure nickel and the difficulty to synthesise its nitrides. They decompose around 400/spl deg/C. We report on transport properties of nickel nitride thin films deposited using an ion beam technique.
