Abstract :
This paper discusses a number of critical issues that occur in the teaching process of basic circuit and systems concepts and methods to electrical engineering students. Different role models are introduced and some views on alternative choices are made. It is felt that extensive discussion and debate is desirable in order to enhance the efficacy of the teaching, its impact in the electrical engineering education and in order to increase the intrinsic interest of the students.
