Abstract :
As techniques for locating the fault point in the power feeding line of an optical submarine cable, the electric time domain reflector, and frequency domain reflectometry are discussed. In this paper, we will discuss time domain analysis and compare simulated and actual measurements. We will also discuss the pulse propagation velocity of a single sinusoidal wave used for TDR measurement. The analytical models are based on reference for armored cables.
